Not that I have anything terribly exciting to report. I just wanted you to know where I am. I’m supposed to arrive in Madison at 9:08.

I just caught my floor on fire. Well, okay. That’s a little bit of an exaggeration. A piece of the paper that’s glued to the pantry floor ignited to a flame like a birthday candle. I whacked it with my paint scraper and it went out. I’ve made little embers glow before but this was the first flame, and, really, it was more excitement than I needed tonight. Besides, it’s too early for my birthday.
