I hadn't realized today was the day. I can't believe it's been 19 years! I actually cried when I heard Jim Henson died (I was 23 btw). It was just so sudden and shocking. The Muppets have always been special to me, ever since Sesame Street when I was 3, and my (now deceased) brother and I would watch The Muppet Show together every week. How appropriate that we just finished watching two episodes from Season 1 of The Muppet Show tonight.

I actually cried when I heard Jim Henson died (I was 23 btw). It was just so sudden and shocking. The Muppets have always been special to me, ever since Sesame Street when I was 3, and my (now deceased) brother and I would watch The Muppet Show together every week.

I remember the old Wilkins Coffee commercials with proto-Kermit. The University of Maryland, Hensen's alma mater, has a nice memorial of <a href="http://mycreativeprojects.net/sitebuilder/images/image_41-421x305.png" rel="nofollow">him and Kermit on a bench</a>. Lots of folks <a href="http://www.dswashington.org/typo3temp/pics/d04b1a5004.jpg" rel="nofollow">get their picture taken with him</a>, which I think he would like.
