My plans with Captain Future

For the past week, I’ve had a little bit of a scratchy throat which I ascribed to not drinking enough water. Not because I was coming down with something. Oh no. And the conjestion when I wake up in the morning? I probably got pollen on the pillow and just need to do laundry. It’s not a cold.

And the fever that started during Icelandic class today? Um… I think Icelandic is really hot?

So, I’ve got a mild cold and I’m going to spend today under the covers with Captain Future as he journeys to Danger Planet! That sounds more exciting than it probably should…

I totally understand where you’re coming from. My allergies have been rotten for the past couple of days. And I’m so warm this morning — it’s obviously the weather, even though it’s barely 9 a.m., is certainly fall, and there’s a really good breeze outside.

Take care, get well soon, and enjoy your book.

Captain Future was stunning. He saved the whole universe from ultimate evil!

Wow! I’ll so have to look him up.

Planet of Evil is very, very out of print but I think it has made me fall in love with space opera.

With a publication date in the ’40′s? Oh yes. Thank goodness for the internet.

ABE has copies for a buck or two, plus shipping. AND it seems Captain Future wasn’t exclusive to Planet of Evil. Hmm…

Hmm…indeed. I may have to check out another of Captain Future’s adventures. Understand, that it is pulp and space opera, but that said, I enjoyed it tremendously.

You know, there’s a reason why the pulps and space opera were so successful and are viewed as they are today. :) They were enjoyable. Maybe not considered great art, but fun. And I like fun.

This is why people have IM, isn’t it?

    Thanks for the reccomendation.
