Two years ago, when I was just poking my nose into the field, I heard (from trustworthy folks, mind you) all these gripe-y stories about all of the problems SFWA had -- how it was stuck in the 20th c., how I shouldn't bother joining once I was eligible, etc. I think it's a testament to the work you've done as secretary that I don't really get what people were so dissatisfied with. I mean, I DO get it, but for a new member like me, the problems are really just not in evidence anymore. So...thanks!
