Chattanooga Spaceship

In Chattanooga, when we go to visit my cousins on Signal Mountain, we always pass this spaceship. Seriously. Well, okay, it’s a house shaped like a space ship, but still.

There’s an article online about it, which includes this handy video showing the inside of the Spaceship House. I’d always wondered about it.

Clearly, I’m going to have to rewrite all my spaceship sf to include shag carpeting.

My question. How do you hang the drapes in a round house? By the way, there is a very snazzy ‘frisbee’ house just outside of Denver in the rocky mountains, said to have a magnificent view.

AHHH!! I’ve been there! Wow, me and Mary have been the same place. I used to live in Chattanooga as a tween and we had fun going to all the local attractions. The space house.. I really want to take my family to Ruby Falls. I think they’re all love it. I may not have been very happy in my life there, but I really, really miss all the great parks. I get such a kick out of imagining how my kiddos would like the Raccoon Mountain slide, or the Incline.

momk: There are all sorts of decorating challenges in a round house.

Michele Lee: Man, we used to go down that slide as many times as we could in the summer.

Has Rob watched this video? Did you have to revive him after the “very very unique” comment? Not just “very unique”, which sometimes triggers seizures, but “very very unique.”

-d- I too was wondering about Rob’s possible seizures with that “very - very unique” comment.

Here is the kind of house that’s down the street from my grandparents’ home in Houston, Delaware:

And here is the guy who lives in it:

He is also rumored to have worn a full ape costume while riding his bike on cold days and once told everyone at the garage my Poppop owned that he “liked his women weird”. I think I believe the rumors now.
